My journey with Florida International University started with a chance to meet with Professor Kalai Mathee at a dinner. Consequently, I could interview her students and Prof. Mathee on the ethical and moral aspects of The Human Genome Project. Their passionate commitment to science and humanity led me to create videos and reports on tropical medicine, neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and global health that plagues the developing world. Coming from Venezuela, I connected to the cause immediately and, more importantly, a lasting friendship.
